The World Journal of Surgery (WJS), is the official publication of the International Society of Surgery/Societe Internationale de Chirurgie (iss-sic.com) and its affiliated societies. WJS is a key platform for showcasing innovative research in clinical surgery. WJS advances knowledge and global patient care through publications on clinical trials, health services and outcomes research, surgical education and workforce studies, patient safety, and surgical innovations. Notably, WJS is a primary source for research in surgery within humanitarian, conflict, or austere settings. WJS actively encourages showcases submissions from new authors, including those from less-represented countries in medical publishing. Our goal is to drive advancements in surgery on a global scale.
